Charged with creating viral buzz for your brand’s products or services but not sure how to navigate the constantly changing world of Internet communications and social media?
Outreach to consumers via blogs, consumer websites, social media and video sites, chat rooms and newsrooms is becoming vital to a successful and integrated public relations campaign. Join us on March 26th for a panel discussion with some of the Twin Cities’ leading new media and blogging experts.
* Chuck Olsen is the founder of Minnesota Stories, called one of the best videoblogs by The New York Times. He is the producer-director of Blogumentary, the first documentary film about the rise of political and personal blogs. His work has screened at the Walker Art Center, Harvard University, and on renegade laptops all around the world. He is the Minneapolis correspondent for Rocketboom and works as a freelance producer, videographer, editor and educator.
* Greg Swan of Weber Shandwick is a hybrid of public relations professional, blogger and trend junkie. Greg runs music blog PerfectPorridge.com and is co-captain of Metroblogging Minneapolis, an online citizen-journalism community. Greg receives an average of 50 pitches per day (note: I got 66 today, March 25) and can speak first hand about getting messages covered in blogs in authentic and engaging ways.
* Jim Foti, a.k.a. Roadguy, is the transportation reporter for the Star Tribune and author of a blog that explores the ways that Minnesotans get around town. Jim has driven from coast to coast, explored mass transit systems from Britain to Bangkok and once dressed as a freeway for Halloween.
* Ed Lamoureaux, SVP of Marketing at WestGlen Communications, has leveraged more than 22 years of broadcast PR and video experience into one of the fastest growing online promotion and video placement agencies in the country. He has helped develop relationships with hundreds of top television, radio and newspaper websites for strategic content placement, and his team of Internet publicists has daily contact with top bloggers and social media influencers.
I’ll let you know how it goes…and I’ll be Twittering during if you want to follow along.
