It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s the guy! He may look like Willow in this picture, but the guy, aka Christopher Schreiner, is the epitome of a Berklee-trained professional guitarist.

Known in some circles as “the guy,” guitarist Christopher Schreiner is not what one would expect of an instrumental guitarist. Although possessing substantial technique, his compositions are never dominated by the intention of demonstrating it. His music is subtly sophisticated, hypnotic, and groove oriented, erupting into a shred-fest just long enough to know that he can. Backed by JAM Pedals, GHS Strings and Bogner Amplification, the guy is, deceptively, a guitarists’ guitarist; unique phrasing, inspiring tone, as well as, expressive touch set the guy apart from the status quo.Before graduating from Berklee College of Music, Christopher was a member of Kenwood Dennards’s band; often cutting class in favor of jamming with the legendary drummer. In 2005 they recorded the album Metajam. Guitar Player Magazine has chosen him to perform in the Guitar Superstar Competition at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on September 13th.
