hoperocksvol2
Wishing for a compilation of the Minneapolis area’s best and brightest bands? Want to help a great cause? I’ve got your jackpot right here.

This year I’m again helping to promote Hope Rocks! Vol. 2 Benefiting Faith’s Lodge, a fundraiser for Faith’s Lodge, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping parents with a seriously ill child or who have lost a child.

Hope Rocks! Volume II is a compilation CD produced by Drew Pearson at 50 Entertainment and includes tracks from some of my favorite local bands, including Solid Gold, Atmosphere, Jeremy Messersmith, The Wars of 1812, A Night in the Box, Dan Rodriguez, Rocket Club and more.

Vol. 2 marks the second annual fundraiser for Faith’s Lodge, and you just couldn’t pick a better reason to buy an album chock full of good music for a good cause.

Check out this tracklist:

  1. Soul Asylum – Stand Up and Be Strong
  2. Catchpenny – Can’t Let It Get You Down
  3. Quietdrive – Deliverance
  4. Solid Gold – Get Over It
  5. Owl City – On the Wing
  6. Jeremy Messersmith – Miracles
  7. Atmosphere – Yesterday
  8. Laarks – All the Words You Can’t Say Right
  9. Ice Palace – Thoughts/Facts
  10. The Wars of 1812 – Radios Unsigned
  11. A Night in the Box – Let Me Know
  12. Halloween, Alaska – The Hollywood Sign
  13. The Cloud Hymn – Wide
  14. Haley Bonar – Arms of Harm
  15. Lynhurst – Exactly
  16. Dan Rodriguez – Games
  17. Rocket Club – One More Day

CD’s can be purchased at all Twin Cities Target Stores on the Cities 97 endcap and on the Faith’s Lodge web site – www.faithslodge.org/hoperocks – beginning September 27, 2009.

Meanwhile, check out this video Rocket Club posted from their live Studio C recording of “One More Day” they did at Cities 97 on Tuesday. The lyrics were written in memory of Faith Ann Lacek by her dad, and the track is on the compilation. Talk about a poignant, moving, passionate and loving song…

Crying? Me, too. Be sure to watch WCCO at 10 tonight for the emotional story behind the song.
