Haven't heard of Drums & Tuba? Today is your day

I had a hankering for some Drums & Tuba this morning, and thought I’d share. It’s an innovative trio out of Austin who use delay and looping effects to create some of the best instrumental math/jam rock out there.

I own their first three albums — Flatheads and Spoonies, Vinyl Killer and Mostly Ape — and have seen them live three times. The group puts on one of the most compelling live shows I’ve ever seen.

And yes, there’s a tuba. But it’s tuba like you’ve never heard before: laying down a looped bass line, singing through it, and the dude plays trumpet. And the guitarist plays two guitars at the same time (one on a stand). And the drumming is swirling, loose and responsive.
