Gospel Claws, the Arizona indie desert pop group, was so sick of people misinterpreting their name, frontman Joel Marquard took it upon himself to record an actual gospel album.
It’s out today, as a self-titled LP, under the moniker The Through & Through Gospel Review.
Drawing inspiration from Marquard’s father, a pastor who recorded a gospel record at the same age Marquard is now, Joel wet up a Pro Tools system in a bedroom and cranked out 12 tracks of soul-filling, creator-inspired goodness. Of note, a sample from Marquard’s father’s album is Track #12. Pretty cool.
