Finnish psych group Kiki Pau share 8 minute slow burner off new EP

Helsinki-based four-piece Kiki Pau are sharing the first track off their new EP, Pines, and I’m loving the tripped out pace of this 8 minute track. Frankly, it’s the harmonica at the 3:20 mark that sold me on this, as the band experiments with variations on a theme not in any particular hurry to get to the vocals — which don’t kick in until the 6 minute mark.

MP3: Kiki Pau – “Tomte Mars”

From the press release, “It sits at the crossroads of classic jam-rock รก la The Grateful Dead, late sixties psych-pop, British psychedelic folk, space rock and 70’s kosmische musik.”

Bonus: mixed by Gustav Ejstes (of Swedish psych-rock band Dungen).

Pines is out on Feb. 5 on Beyond Beyond is Beyond Records.

It’s actually an LP, Greg. 4 songs, about 42 minutes. Thanks for the write-up!
