I highly respect Tom Feldmann & the Get-Rites, and I’ve written about them a considerable amount. The Minneapolis trio write rootsy, Americana goodness steeped in influences that certainly pre-date my generation.

It’s those timeless influences that have made the Get Rites who they are today, and as the band reflected on all those who paved the way, they got it in their heads to record a tribute album of sorts.

The album is called: “Tribute: the gospel sides of Muddy Waters, Lightin’ Hopkins, Fred McDowell, Charley Patton, Washington Phillips, Blind Willie Johnson, Robert Wilkins, Booker White, Dock Reed and Son House.”
