MN Lottery hosts three free shows with SWEET local bands

The Minnesota State Lottery is promoting the launch of their Cash & Concerts concert-themed scratch game with free rock shows at Minneapolis venues, and the bands are goooood:

Sunday, May 16, 8 p.m. – Triple Rock Social Club: Red Pens with BNLX and Voytek
Wednesday, May 19, 8 p.m. – Fine Line Music Café: Melismatics with Alarmists and The Idle Hands
Thursday, May 27, 8 p.m. – Varsity Theater: Rogue Valley and the Jason Shannon Band and Strangelights

The shows are open to anyone 18 years and older. More info.

Kill to Kill CD Release Show @ Hexagon tonight

With thunderous drums backed by only bass and baritone guitars, Kill to Kill is a down and dirty, hot estrogen mess. The group’s new Fighter EP is a healthy eight tracks deep. My favorites are “Radical Flyer” and “White Party.”
