Today is the day. Ears, watch out. Here it comes.
The Dead Weather‘s debut album, Horehound, is in stores and out digitally today.
Don’t know of The Dead Weather? Well, my friends, this is the new supergroup, featuring vocalist Alison Mosshart (The Kills), drummer and vocalist Jack White (The White Stripe, The Raconteurs), guitarist Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age) and bassist Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, The Greenhornes).
The album itself is an 11-track lesson in blues, rock and soul. I do love this album, although I’ll admit the opening track, “60 Feet Tall,” is a bit of a challenge to get into (it takes to the 3:00 mark to really kick in). But tracks like “Hang You From the Heavens” and “Treat Me Like Your Mother” are more than a redemption for my impatience.
To celebrate TDW’s big day, I’m running a contest for ya…
