Tu Fawning @ Varsity Theater 9-23

I’ve been rocking Portland, Oregon-based quartet Tu Fawning‘s debut full length, Hearts On Hold, this week, and I’m just loving it.

Tu Fawning is a collective of songsmiths and multi-instrumentalists founded by Joe Haege (31Knots, Menomena) and Corrina Repp. They released an EP back in 2008 but have since double in size by adding Toussaint Perrault and Liza Rietz to the roster.

They write music that requires patience and multiple listens – a welcome respite from the formulaic crap that’s been spread around lately.

Here’s a taste:

Moneybrother plays Varsity Theater, Sept 19

The grammy-winning Swede will be bringing his brand of “Pub Soul” to MSP tomorrow.

The concept of this video is cool, but dude’s footwork just bothers me – and he does the sidestep thing through the entire video.
