Happy Tuesday – how about some prog-gospel?

Gabe Noel from Vosotros sent over this track with Alex Lilly (Obi Best, Bird and the Bee) on vocals:

About a year ago I became obsessed with a group from Camden, NJ…they’re called Tye Tribbett and G.A. I dunno how to describe them…prog-gos? Like prog rock but gospel music?!? They bring a Christian message but the box it comes in is what really intrigued me. Powerful, rhythmically driven with crazy harmonies and choir vocals. So naturally I really wanted to have my own prog gospel band!

Last Rock Critic to Music Bloggers: They took our jobs!

This March I sat in a SXSW panel with Rolling Stone/Spin writer Chris Weingarten railing the social Web for “running me out of a job.” He was mad about bloggers not writing negative reviews. He was upset about this new attention to immediacy and the thirst for “new content now” and how it hurts long-form journalism. Frankly, he complained and moaned for the entire panel.

Later that day, at my . . . → Read More: Last Rock Critic to Music Bloggers: They took our jobs!

The Forest and The Trees' new video for To the Forest

Stockholm based husband and wife combo The Forest & The Trees released their debut single this week via Ill Fit Recordings, “To The Forest (I Need Some Peace).”

The video is gorgeous, although I’ve been to Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head, and I’m not sure I know what’s going on here…

I'm Not a Band is the band's name

From Berlin, it’s I’m Not a Band, who is actually a band. The harmonies and beatz are akin to Kings of Convenience‘s album Versus, an all-time favorite.
